250 Gifts Delivered

2021 is Alive In Christ's Year of Following Jesus.  Although that has always been our goal/purpose, this year is about being intentional in encouraging one another to pray, live, fight temptation, and love more like Jesus.   Through this blog we want to highlight the ways the people of Alive In Christ are the hands and feet of Jesus and the ways Alive in Christ and our members live out Following Jesus on a daily basis.  We will spotlight events, ministries and people. We will include current ministries as well as take a look back at the many ways the people of Alive In Christ continued to be the hands and feet of Jesus during the challenges of the pandemic.

On December 22, 2020 Alive In Christ delivered 100 Christmas Gifts to the residence of Paquin Towers and handed out nearly 150 Christmas Gifts to meal recipients at Loaves and Fishes.  The Paquin gift bags included hats, gloves, socks, and hand warmers. The Loaves and Fishes gift bags consisted of hats, gloves, socks, hand warmers, blankets and COVID Kits (hand sanitizer, wipes, and a mask).

The items were purchased with Alive In Christ Outreach dollars (did you know Alive In Christ "tithes" 10% of offerings to Outreach?), two Thrivent Action Grants, and a generous grant from the Walmart Foundation.

The 250 bags were assembled by a small group of elves (i.e. a small group of AIC women who gave of their time to be the hands and feet of Jesus).  Below are some pictures from the assembly.  Pictured above is 1 of the 4 car loads that were needed to get all of the bags to their destinations (this required 3 additional faithful volunteers), and another 4 AIC volunteers to hand out the bags at Loaves & Fishes (not including the faithful members who shop, cook, and serve meals at Loaves & Fishes twice per month.  We will highlight them in a later blog).
