National Youth Gathering - Daily Prayer Guide
Friday, July 18th, 12 youth and 4 adults from Alive In Christ will be traveling to New Orleans for the National Youth Gathering (NYG). They will join with thousands of youth and adults from other LCMS (Lutheran Church Missouri Synod) churches from around the country.
The National Youth Gathering is "held every 3 years since 1980, the LCMS Youth Gathering provides thousands of youth and adults the opportunity to come together as a community of God’s people to be encouraged in their walk with Jesus Christ and learn about the Christian faith and their Lutheran identity. "

Join us in praying for the NYG participants!
We will be sending out a daily prayer guide during the National Youth Gathering (7/18-7/25). Please join in praying for our AIC team that is going and for all of the participants.
Starting now, leading up to the gathering, we ask that you be in prayer for the following:
• The theme of the gathering is “Endure.” Endurance is certainly needed on a trip like
this, but we do not just want to survive, we want to thrive, in Christ. Ask Jesus to
empower us to endure.
• The key scripture is: “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of
witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us
run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and
perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endure. Consider him
who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow
weary or fainthearted.”Hebrews 12:1-3
• Pray that the Holy Spirit fills us so that we have love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,
goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
• Pray - often - for protection of our physical bodies. Things like pink-eye, the common
cold and covid run wild at these things. Pray for protection of our bodies.
• Pray for “unity” among our 16 participants. Consider this scripture: “Share the same
love, and have one mind and purpose.” Philippians 2:2
