Belize 2023 - Heading Home (Friday and Saturday)

We had to get up early again because the boat back to Belize City left at 8:00am. Around 7:15 we went to the hotel lobby because Marshall had pastries for us for breakfast. Around 7:30 we left to walk to the boat. On the long boat ride back some people enjoyed the views while others enjoyed a morning nap.
Once we got back to Belize city we went to the local church to grab our luggage then headed to the airport. At the airport we had plenty of time to get lunch and shop for souvenirs before boarding the plane to Dallas.
Once we got to Dallas we went through customs, got our luggage, then headed to our hotel. Once we got to the hotel we had about an hour of free time before it was time for dinner and the evening meeting. During the evening meeting we all shared a verse that had been on our hearts throughout the trip. After the meeting we cleaned everything up then got ready for bed.
Our flight on Saturday left around 3:30pm so we had all morning as free time. Many of us went to breakfast at the same time and socialized. Most of us stayed in our rooms for the majority of the day. In our rooms we took showers, watched TV, took naps, and socialized with our roommates. Around noon we left for the airport. At the airport we had plenty of time to hang out and eat lunch before we boarded our plane.
Once we got to the Kansas City airport we gathered for our final team meeting. We stood around the baggage claim while Will reflected on the trip. Once Will was done talking all the youth went around and shared our favorite things about Will since this is his last trip as youth leader. After that Matt and Randall prayed us out before we all went our separate ways to head home. It was a great end to an amazing trip!

Our Evening Devotional - Acts 4:32-37

32 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. 33 With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all 34 that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales 35 and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.
36 Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas (which means “son of encouragement”), 37 sold a field he owned and brought the money and put it at the apostles’ feet.

Thank you so much for following along on this amazing journey to Belize!
